If you are IN Galveston and are reading this right now—-wow…..?
I’ve been watching the weather channel and the news guy was just on the beach at Galveston and he said that only around 50% of the people who live there actually left. (that is what he said) I see people (and young teens) in the background right on the beach surfing and acting like its no big deal! they are saying even though its a category 2 right now that the surge will be devistating—-if you stay that you will be lucky to live through it. Please I urge you to consider this last chance.
If you stay on Galveston, you’re plain stupid. You had plenty of chances. Like I told a friend earlier, they might as well get a sharpie and write their social security numbers on their arm. Hopefully they are lucky and dont get killed if they choose to stay.
Guess I’ll see you guys later on the news on rooftops waiting to be saved by helicopters. Or on the bottom of my tv screen as a person who didnt choose to survive this. Good luck.

20,000 or so people didn’t leave when they were told to do so.
They’re just “fascinated” by watching the waves pound the 16-17 feet sea wall.
Which I heard isn’t going to help the 20+ storm surge when Hurricane Ike hits tonight/tomorrow morning. :[
What happened to people’s common sense?
I pity all of them.
They should have evacuated long ago when the mandatory evacuation was FIRST issued.
The whole island of Galveston is predicted to be all under water.
I think they would want to be safer than sorry, but oh well.
I really hope they get out of harm’s way.
